"The author paints beautiful pictures through his descriptive writing style. I could tell this story was told through knowing eyes.

His characters were very colorful, not in the least of which were his main characters, Pete and Angela. Their strength, integrity, and generosity made it a pleasure to take this adventure with them.

His use of flashback gave dimension to his characters as well. At a point in the story that you wanted to know about the individuals he took you back in their lives to explain how they got to this point and gave you a glimpse as to their motivations.

I could see this playing out quite nicely on the big screen. ... maybe an indy film???"

"Amazing read, written beautifully that takes readers to the beautiful but sometimes harsh life in the Philippine's. My father was stationed here during world war II so I found this great read even more compelling. The author has combined fiction and fact in an amazing combination with characters that jump off the page as the reader's are lucky enough to follow the journey. The author knows how to tell an amazing tale and readers will want to read this well written book over and over again."
